Because I am a human being with such an obsession with film that I cannot go one damn blog without talking about it, I just decided to compile a list of my top 30 favorite films of all time. Keep in mind this is a favorites list and not my opinion on what are the Greatest films ever made, that's a different situation entirely.

Also for the love of god, please do not leave some comment on here in the vain of "I don't like blah film from your list," because quite frankly, I don't care. I mean, if you are going to do so, then please elaborate a little more, or don't comment at all. "I don't like it cause it was shit," is not elaborating, come on, what are we 12 year olds?

So if that didn't piss everybody off, here it is, because I'm sure people really give a frak what my favorite movies are.

30. Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels: It was down to this and Snatch to start off my list, and I like this one more.
29. After Hours: It's so fucked up funny, plus here we have Scorsese at the top of his form.
28. Chasing Amy: Still my favorite Kevin Smith film, and he's admitted that this is his best flick.
27. Kicking and Screaming(1995): The first film by Noah Baumbach, I saw this and I realized someone already made the movie I have been wanting to make for years, and he did it far better than I could ever hope to do.
26. The Usual Suspects: Great crime piece, I love it.
25. Hot Fuzz: I laugh endlessly.
24. Monty Python's Life of Brian: The funniest film ever made in my opinion.
23. Psycho: My first Hitchcock film, masterpiece of horror.
22. Terminator 2: Because it's fucking awesome
21. The Dark Knight: Yeah I loved this movie, just because a lot of other people love it is no reason for me to love it less. Also Christopher Nolan kicks ass.
20. Scarface(1932): Great gangster epic, I'll take this any day over the 80's one.
19. A Clockwork Orange: Sick, twisted, and AWESOME
18. Vertigo: It's Hitchcock's masterpiece, and was my introduction to deeper Hitchcock.
17. Goodfellas: Flawless technique, great story.
16. Casino Royale: I can't explain it, I just love watching this movie, like again and again.
15. (500) Days of Summer: Also can't explain it, it's just great, makes me feel good, until Zooey decided to bitch up, but it's okay, I'll forgive her.
14. Inglourious Basterds: It's my favorite Tarantino flick in a long damn time, way too much fun, and why the fuck is it that people like to bitch that he spelled Basterds wrong but not Inglourious? Is it because most people who want to act pompous and like a smart ass are also fucking retards?
13. Watchmen: What can I say, I love the movie, ultimate cut of course.
12. Zodiac: My favorite David Fincher film, it was our first sign of him as a completely mature filmmaker.
11. Taxi Driver: Excellent portrait of loneliness, beautifully made.
10. Eyes Wide Shut: Yeah it's in my top 10, deal with it.
9. Pulp Fiction: It's hard for anybody who doesn't study film to understand why this film is actually important, regardless, it is. Also, it's a damn good time.
8. The Seven Samurai: I get completely absorbed into the story every time I watch this, a study in pacing.
7. The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly: Come on, I don't even need to explain why I love this film.
6. American Beauty: Kevin Spacey, if I were a woman I would so have your child
5. The Shawshank Redemption: Because let's face it, no one actually dislikes this movie.
4. Magnolia: Fuck, I still don't know why this is so high, I can admit it has some big problems, but quite frankly I don't give a shit. I love the flick.
3. The Godfather Part II: Excellent follow up to The Godfather.
2. Once Upon a Time in America: I love crime films, and this is one of the best
1. The Godfather: One of the most universally well respected casts in Hollywood history, epic storytelling, Francis Ford Coppola in his prime. Even if you hate this movie, you'd have to have chunks missing from your brain to dislike the acting, which is the single strongest point in the first two Godfather films. Also my genre of choice is crime, so it was set from the beginning that this would be my favorite flick.

What are your favorite flicks?

i just watched a clockwork orange yesterday. didn't really care for it. it dragged a bit in places, and i have a really short attention span. i blame the add for my opinion on that one. and i have yet to see the ultimate cut, but watchmen definitely makes my top 10. i agree with your list for the most part, with the exception of the movies i have yet to see. i love love LOVE american beauty. i'm not even sure why, but that movie always amazes me.
