Weekend resurrections.

This weekend has been filled to the brim with so many awesome things this next weekend, even more so! Gah!

So I got to go to one of the biggest swap meets on the west coast. Walked over 5 miles and still didn't cover everything. Ran into friends, talked with vendors and just enjoyed the art and the awesome parts and cars people have collected. Not to mention oogled over plenty of awesome cars that were brought.

After my ankles decided to announce their official hatred for me. Decided it was time to kick back and have a couple beers and shoot some pool.

Can ya guess which one is mine? ;)

So started a couple of games of pool and was on a roll. Showed a couple of guys how pool is played. Now, my father was on a pool league, I grew up with a pool table and being lined up for specific shots etc etc. I was taught proper english, call shots and I was never allowed to play slops with my dad. I was noticed by a pool shark and got my ass handed to me. I'd put 3 in, he'd get 4. Oh well, I had fun.

Went out with my mom and miraculously didn't get kicked out of anywhere! lol selfies ensued...

Mustafa (My moms pibble) decided he too, wanted to get in on the photo action.

So big news, big news! The truck sold! Woo! And the resurrection of Rustina AKA project fuck it has begun! It has been a long winter and rainy season but the clouds have cleared and this beast has been brought out of hibernation. Rustina is our Frankenstein Swede-rod. She is a 1986 Volvo 244DL That was rusted out. So we chopped the roof 6 inches and welded it all back together. Welded up the rusted out floorboard. She's running straight exhaust with a fishtail exhaust off of a 1955 Harley Davidson. And she's sporting some of my custom art.

So she will be tuned up, welded shut and a permanent windshield and glass put in before car show season. A lot of people are not sure how they feel about Rustina, She's so hideously awesome and the looks you get driving her down the road are priceless.

Now before I hear the whole get the DMC running spiel, I will explain that I need to get these projects done and out of the way before I can even have room to work on my DeLorean. It is right now in the corner in shame and I am not too happy about what she looks like at the moment but that's what happens when you share a garage.

So with that sad sight, here is the to do list next to my coffee pot

All of my running vehicles have been named based on their personality and story behind them by the way. :)

And with that happy Monday! It's some nice weather so I am going to get some time in setting up the garden and enjoying the clear skies!

Lol was that DMC comment for me? It's been a while since I have seen a chopped car that was not channeled or sectioned. The last rod I was in had all 3 done and you could only get in if you were miniature size like me.

@tomiam ha! Not just for you. But I was waiting for it lol. Rustina's roof was cut into 6 sections and stitched together with sheet metal. Sadly, I don't think she will be around much longer. The previous owners had wiring issues and decided to just splice a new wiring harness in with the old one *face palm*. It's been a nightmare to tune her. I believe the effort to get her running right for a $500 fuck it project is not worth it, no matter how cool she may look. The time and money could go towards far more important projects in our driveway. As we are too fond to let anyone else take credit, she'll be parted out and as the Volvo community likes to say, we will "Crush it". I think we'll end up making another chopped Volvo though. Just need a better platform to start with on the next one.
