The female, Dottie, had recently delivered puppies, all of which were dead, or died shortly there after. She had no milk. Her uterus became infected, which is life threatening. The male, Diesel, was in slightly better condition. Both were estimated to be about 100lbs underweight. It was later determined that there was a hole in Dottie's stomach, which was causing her to attempt to bloat anytime she ate. The vets decided they could no longer wait, and Friday, Dottie was rushed into surgery. She survived. Until this morning. She was too weak to continue, and she took the Rainbow bridge. And I am broken, with sadness and rage, that humans find this acceptable. Her owners won't be prosecuted for the crimes they committed against that poor soul, because they are poor and ignorant. As if it's an excuse.
