OK, so 2 months later and I have something to talk about. Long summer. Loooooooong summer. My GF's niece and nephew were visiting for 6 weeks. I almost hurt myself not killing them. Insufferable know-it-alls half my age or more telling me how the world works.
During that visit, my girl's mother dies. It was a blessing, she'd been suffering from a number of health problems for years so I'm truly glad she can finally rest.
I went back to TX to visit my friends and family after a two year drought of visits by me to Dallas. I had a lot of fun hanging with my friends doing all sorts of fun stuff like sailing, karaoke, or sitting and watching TV. My mother is a miserable racist. Hurricane Katrina wiped out almost 2 entire states, and my mom wont send a blanket to the refugees because those darkies deserve what they got for living below sea level.
Did I mention I had a lot of fun with my friends? I'm going to save up my vacation and head to Louisianna when they start rebuilding and lend a hand. It seems only fair.
I know people who had family and friends in the Big Easy, they all made it out. They were lucky.
