damien jurado's newest album is currently stuck on repeat in my ipod and in winamp. by choice.
it's a great album, although easily forgettable. not because it's not one of the best i'm going to hear this year, because it is that. it's forgettable because damien is not one of those names that sticks in your head as someone you really want to hear at the spur of the moment. also, because it's not entertaining in that disgusting way of everything else in this country that demands attention. damien writes good, smart music that just is what it is... but that just makes it so much better.
