I'm back in Chicago now; met my new roomates; they all seem pretty cool. I live with two other film majors (like me) and a recording arts major (at which I've a lot of expierence) Plus, two of them also play musical instruments. So, it looks like I should be able to get a long with them just fine.
Its so good to finally come to a place I'm a little familar with after moving around constantly for the last few months. I mean, I'd lived in Baltimore years ago, so I *sort of* had a feel for DC whilst living there last year. But even still, I spent most of my time learning the ropes of everything for the first few months I was there.
Saw Antitra and Moe. They were good (but busy, as usual).
Going back to Charlotte was good; saw Jim and Sabrina (my former boss and stage manager, respectively, and also close friend's of mine). The show was really hilarious and excellent (but what shows of ours aren't, really?
) It was called Pyscho Beach Party. It was a spoof on crappy 60's Beach Blanket Bingo type stuff. They even had a live surf rock band play on stage with them. Pretty tight band, too.
Saw Andy, too
. Dude cut his dread locks off, and his goatee/"chin strap"; he had Beatles hair
. Becca (his sister, and also one of the most beautiful woman I've ever seen) Moved to the Congo (I think thats where he said
), working for Green Peace. He's going to move there to teach small childern as soon as he finishes school. He was working like four jobs; he was all responsable now; and he said Jake was running visual at this really up scale hotel and wearing a suit and tie every day, etc. And Kevin (who was pretty much the black version of Andy) was almost finished with school, too. It just weird; I remember when it looked like all three of those guys were doomed to be drug dealers for the rest of their lives; Christ, back then, I actually thought I'd be doing lighting, sound, and promotional work for clubs and theatres for a lot longer; you know, like, it was my life's ambition to just sit and watch performance art and hang out in VIP rooms for the rest of eternity, and just kind of "stumble into" film work. My, my, what a few years can do to your worldview
Who's your favorite singer? Why is her/his voice particularly appealing to you?
