Sweet success! I put in my orders to the framers and printers. The end of the tunnel for my gallery workload is in sight....and just in time to take the weekend to go to a cave rave. Yep., that's right. Dozens of DJs in a cave somewhere in northern illinois...how could I possibly resist? The candy raver in me is ready to dance dance dance!!!
So here is a minor bit of irritation; I am surprised I ran across this situation in this day and age. I had to shoot A race at the Slinger Speedway. As a member of the press, I am supposed to pretty much have my run of the place. When I requested to be let onto the inside track by the race cars (near all of the OTHER shooters) some red faced burly official told me-"oh, no honey, that's way too dangerous for you.....)
...What the hell??!!? I* could understand if no one was allowed down there, but I saw several other photographers down there (all male of course), one of whom was AT LEAST 350 lbs. If it was so dangerous, why is Humpty Dumpty down there, then? If a car is going to go out of control, and we have to run out of the way, who do you think is going to have the better hustle? Slim McGinn ain't the pony I'm betting on, that's for sure...
So, yeah, my shots were quite compromised for this assignment. Ah well, tomorrow is another day. It's actually been pretty hard to stay mad over anything for long, just because I have gotten so much work done, and then I have a full week off from both jobs after that. Huzzah!
I'm thinking of going to San Diego to visit a friend if I can get cheap enough airpasses, but that's a big maybe. It remains to be seen......but if Thursday rolls around and I'm in town, Milwaukee peeps! we should do a taco Thursday. I am eager to meet you all.
