Blog time! Also known as chinchilla time, I find it quite enjoyable with the tradition of bringing the laptop with me as I let them out of their cage. Whilst they are tearing around the room chewing on anything they can find I can destress and just write down this blog.

Haven't done a lot of writing of late because of work related commitments which sucks. Besides that I am suffering from a writers block because of the pressure I have put on myself with the story I am working on. Next week I am going to try and lower the expectations of myself and just put anything down.

This is a segment of what I wrote last time, it's the start of a sword duel. It's quite long and in first persons perspective. Find it easier to write that way. Usually end up converting it into third person in the end to make the story more flowing but it's so much easier to get emotions down in first person I reckon. Opinions and thoughts would be appreciated if you guys take your time reading it smile

SPOILERS! (Click to view)

As the sun sets I wake up from my slumber. Eyelids feel like they are weighing in close to a ton, eyes feel like they have sand in them and my body feel completely numb. Despite falling asleep sideways, I find myself lying awkwardly on my back in the moist evening grass. Luckily the wetness have not penetrated my clothing yet. The warmth of the sunlight shining through the clearing of the woods should make the clothes should dry up as soon as I stand up but I have yet to open my eyes. As they slowly open and the daze from the nap clears, I find myself staring into a beautiful evening sky. The blue skyline has started breaking into a yellow and red colour. There are a couple of thin, light clouds coloured completely red by the setting sun. Despite the situation, despite everything going it is impossible not to be mesmerised by the beauty of it. It is possible to hear the wind coming through the forest. It rattle the leaves of the sleepy forest whilst I stare straight up into the sky, waiting for the numbness of my body or at the very minimum my legs so that I can stand up and bask in the very last of the sunlight before the shade of the forest completely consumes the light. The wind now arrives and it sends a slight chill to my tired body, I decide to sit up slowly. I push myself off the ground, slowly coming to a stand, push my arms and shoulders back. The spine makes a soft crack and it feels nice, damned nice. I tilt my head slowly back, closing my eyes, completely stretching my spine and my face fully embracing the warm sunlight. Just standing there it is possible to feel the water evaporate from the surface of wet clothes. In this silent moment of absolute serenity is when the thought strikes strikes me: Why is it so quiet? This time of the year all forests are filled with life. The birds chirping, their offspring crying for food, frogs croaking as they get out of the water during night time. Now when I think about it I have yet to receive a single mosquito bite and they usually love me. Not even flies can be heard as I slowly walk towards where the looters are. A chill is sent down my spine as the only thing that can be heard is the low screeching of my own ears. Slowly I turn around in a full circle looking for any sign of life from the forest. None can be found except the feeling that I am most definitely intensively being watched. The unknown gaze burning into my shoulders no matter how quick I turn around.

Now for some funnier stuff! Been looking through a lot of animations of late. SexuaLobster and MasterAardvark on Newgrounds are quite awesome. Probably end up posting some of their stuff in tomorrows blog. Now going to sleep and waking up early to catch some tennis action on TV from the land down under!

I like the sound of chinchilla time!
I do the same with my royal python, he wanders around and investigates, while I either type of draw
smile
love the little excerpt, it really makes me feel like I'm doing/seeing exactly what you are because of the vivid descriptions, especially stretching your spine, its such a natural thing to do, but really good when you think about it!
