Busy busy day!

The day started off like every Monday, eating breakfast just relaxing prior to work. I even decided on wearing proper builder pants today instead of the industrial workplace ones given by the factory I work at. Let's face it, so much better to pretend to somehow be a builder than a factory worker. As a builder, even if you hate the job, you can pull off stories how you as a child loved to build with Lego and blocks, then utilizing that creativity and urge to become a builder. As a factory worker however, what can you say? As a kid I only loved doing a single puzzle, over and over again, whilst mum critisized me for not going it fast enough. Making me perfect for the job.

Then things started to get hectic, Silver the chinchilla had a bleeding on his foot. It looked like an absolute massacre in the cage and I honestly freaked out a bit. The bleeding stopped fast enough but the cage looked grizzly. A quick saline wipe of feet and cage revealed that one of his feet looked a bit swollen or at least bigger than it should be. Instantely a time for the vet was booked and it was later on during the day. Sucks, means I had to rush through all the work for the day then quit at lunch, but it had to work. I love the guy and definately don't want to leave anything and just hope that it will be better.
The trip to the vet went absolutely perfect, he was such a trooper. No barking, no whining or anything, I'd be lame to think that he knew that I was trying to help him but it was hard not to. He had what would be similar to having cracked calluses as a human and just needed some salve put on twice a day. Huge relief! Although it turns out that the previous owner (adopted him a month ago) had kept him on way too hard surface over an extended amount of time thus causing the issues. Poor little fellow frown So I got him some new beautiful fleece blankets both in the cage and his play area. He was so happy after receiving some treats because he was so well behaved at the vet's office, he actually wall surfed a bit biggrin

That all said now just relaxing and tomorrow a full day of work will hopefully be on the agenda! Here is a picture of me with Silver just after the vet visit bok

Glad he's ok!!! I definately would have panicked seeing the bloody cage. I do have a question though...chinchillas bark?...I've never actually seen one so I can't imagine what type of noise it would make.

Yeah when they are afraid they bark, I found that quite odd when I got them. Luckily they have been handled a fair bit so I don't have to hear it so often. Usually they are quite easily frightened so was actually thinking they were going to bark all night because of the vet visit.
