Our holiday is really just a greedy consumerist excuse to give and recieve presents. Entire cities and media impose christmas on everyone, including those that don't believe it, by putting up christmas trees, decorating windows, lighting up entire downtown areas specifically for christmas. And then people tell other people not to be SO PC and how fucking dare you point out to someone that not everyone celebrates christmas, because somehow that unrightfully undoes the entire useless tradition. as if we're letting our hair down and just settling and no longer acknowledging other religions and other alternatives. as if that would be a good idea.

and here i was about to suggest we stop upholding the tradition.

i bought presents. i recieved presents. every christmas i wonder if it will be the last in this house.
i was mostly satisfied with the gifts i bought people.
almost as if it were a contest to see who can outdo whom.
