I find now that I manage to control myself by realizing that most of the things I am angry about are truly beyond my control, or so petty that I shouldn't be angry about them
If it is something I could have controlled I focus on correcting it or learning from it.
I know easier said than done, but I use sort of a variation of counting to ten, before reacitng I stop analyze the source of the anger and decide where to go from there.
Oh yeah and when it does get the point where in the past I would have done something negative I just yell my head off in a private place, usually my car. sort of a primal scream sort of thing
