so I was watching the wings game at work tonight, and all i have to say is... DAMN.
i'm not a big sports person, but i looooove my red wings. i'd like to see the pistons and tigers win, i could care less about the lions, but don't mess with my wings.
so tonight, i was just in awe at how much of an ass the coach of the calgary flames is. so it's the end of the 3rd period, the score is 5-1 in favor of the wings, the series was 2-2, now 2-3 with the wings up, so if we win the next game (which my boys will!) we advance to the next round. so anyway, 3rd period, 3 minutes left in the game, and the calgary coach pulls his first string goalie and puts in his 2nd string guy. now, that doesn't make any sense... if nothing else, he could've just pulled his goalie, since there is NO WAY they were gonna score 4 goals in 3 minutes. so the second string goalie gets in the net, and within 15 seconds a wings player skates past. the goalie grabs his stick with both hands and just bashes the wings player with the stick just below the collarbone. he gets thrown out of the game and suspended for the rest of the season. the rest of the calgary players are high fiving him as hes escorted out. i mean, come on now, what the fuck was that coach thinking? he sent out his second string goalie just to take someone out cuz he was pissed that they were losing and didnt want his first string goalie suspended. seriously. someone could've really gotten hurt. thankfully the guy who got hit was ok, but just who has the audacity to do something that low? its his fault for having a team that ALMOST ALWAYS loses on the road. i guess the leauge is gonna put some heavy fines and shit on him, but that is just ridiculous. what the fuck is wrong with people?
