I feel like I post blogs on here all the time... it's kinda ridiculous, but whatever, I don't have anything better to be doing right now.
I just came home from THE MOST intense church service I have ever attended. I think its funny, I did mission work summer of 2005, then didn't go to church when I came home for almost 2 years. But now that I've found this church, I can't imagine not going there on a sunday morning. So in case this actually interests anyone, here's my brief description of the perfect easter sunday service.
it starts out with a guy trying to type out his life story, and they kind of make a joke out of him until he's off the stage. then a pit orchestra AND a live band (electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, and drums) AND 3 mail vocalishts AND a full choir singing 2 praise songs. {ncluding this guy who I may or may not have a little thing for playing guitar <3} anyways, after the band plays a skit is preformed where there's a woman going through her life and telling jesus she doesn't have time for him. they show her at 17 being too busy with boys and prom, then middle aged, too busy with a career and family, then old, not wanting jesus in her life because he wasnt there when her husband died and other times she needed him (even though she turned him away). then a guy comes out playing jesus and just walks through each little segment of her life and watches her until she gets up and walks away from him. when he gets to the oldest stage she stops to think about letting him in and romans come out and haul him away. then you see silloutes of jesus being nailed to a cross and pulled up, then the screens in the background just go red. the pastor comes out, gives half of his sermon, and then another song is played while they show people gathered around a cross with a dead jesus at the foot of it. they carry him away, and a few seconds later you see a huge stone tomb in the middle of the stage, the rock slides, and the guy playing jesus comes out in a cloud of fog. AMAZING. then the pastor finishes his sermon and a few more praise songs are sang. I literally froze when they showed the sillouttes, i didn't know what to think.
seriously, the most powerful church service i have ever been to. totally worth only getting 3 hours of sleep.
now, off to do family things.
