never buy a chevy aveo. seriously. my car is 3 years old. i bought it in july of 2004. new. my brand new car. i was so proud of it. but at 3 years old, my alternator went bad. now what kind of quality is that showing? at 3 years old, JUST out of warranty, the car needs a $300 repair. luckily, my grandparents are awesome and said to consider the alternator my 21st birthday gift and paid for the repair. i don't know how i would've been able to afford having that done. i just barley made my rent in time!
on an even more exciting note, i almost died tonight. at least it felt that way. so i got off work and am driving home. they closed the road that leads directly from my apartment complex to work in 1 mile to build a bridge for the railroad tracks. so i already have to go 2 miles out of my way to get to work. so i get almost home, to the last turn i have to make, and there's a huge accident. i decide to test out my newly repaired car, since i have people "on call" to pick me up if i get stranded. so i hop on the highway on ramp that is right there. i started to slide right away. on ICE. now, i understand that i live in michigan, i've lived here my whole life, but come on now. it's april. easter is 2 days away. why was it snowing to begin with, and why the hell is there ice on the on ramp? so i start to slide off the road towards the arrow signs showing where the road curves. i regain control of my car, and start to slide the other way, towards the inside of the turn! how i managed to get onto the actual highway without crashing is a mystery to me. so as soon as i start to accelerate my tires are spinning like crazy. that is just flat out ridiculous. and it took my forever to get home, cuz i drove really slow and super careful.
so that was my super exciting day. i have a headache.
on top of that, i tried to do a shoot to submit to the site last night, but i am very unhappy with the shots my friends took. that's 2 sets that i let friends do that i was not happy with, and one self portrait one i did that i didn't think there were quite enough good shots to send in. i guess if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself. i'm going to atempt another self portrait one again tonight. become a suicide girl or bust!
