Its All Gone Pete Tong
Recently, I was venturing around online when I came across the trailer for Its All Gone Pete Tong. Now having been a DJ for a couple years now, I had been intrigued by the story of this movie. Its about a world famous Dj called Frankie Wilde. When Frankie was was the top of his game, he loses his hearing. Now being a Dj I know how important being able to hear is. Despite all of Frankie's flaws and addictions, you still feel for him and want him to over come what has happened.
What I loved most about this film was the story. Excellently written dialog mixed over the top humor sucks you into this tragic movie and really moves you. Frankie is really out there, flamboyant and wild coupled with drug and alcohol problems. Pretty much a ticking time bomb. But what really sold me on this movie was the visual and sound editing. I don't think this movie could have been done any better. Seamless conventional cuts blended with the blatant disregard for rules makes this movies what it is. The soundtrack is amazing. But the spots where they choose not to use sound are what really grab your attention and focus your attention onto what happening on screen.
Of all the movies I have seen thus far in 2006, this by far my favorite and will be hard to beat. I highly suggest you see this movie.
