I've really been jonesing for some ink lately. A lot. The problem is I don't know where to start. I'm not a fan of small, randomly located tattoos. I don't think it looks bad, it's just not what I want. I want a good half sleeve or something...but where do you start? I'm not sure what subject matter I want. I'm not sure if I want it all monochrome or color. I'm not sure about a lot of it. Where do you start? I'd love to hear your thoughts on the matter.smile

I started with what I miss and what i love. A memorial for a friend, and my reverence for the ocean. In a style that suits me.

That's what I've been thinking as well, maoskeyham. I want something regarding a compass rose, which has so many meanings for me: aviation, travel, finding my way, outdoor activities, etc. Surrounding it, I envision a Tolkien quote, "Not all those who wander are lost," surrounding it. I also want something regarding bikes. They may not stay a permanent facet of my life, who knows. But for now, with my family, it's all BMX, MTBs, and anything bike related. Perhaps a single sprocket tattoo, to symbolize all the varieties of bikes in our line-up. Something for my kids' names would be awesome, not the letters, but the symbols of their very visual names.
I'm just overwhelmed by the thought of tying them together somehow, of how exactly I want them to look, etc.
