Sunday afternoon and last night I worked on a commercial photo shoot. A local photographer is doing a commercial and he wanted to do portraits of different fairy tale characters. Initially he wanted to do a pet portrait of Little Red Riding Hood and a wolf-like dog, a single portrait of the Princess and the Pea, and a family portrait of Snow White, the Evil Queen, and Snow White's dad. He was supposed to have a makeup artist for all this, and he wanted me for the Evil Queen (apparently I look just menacing, haha!).
Well, he couldn't find a dog, his Little Red Riding Hood flaked anyway, his Snow White wanted to do it another time, and he couldn't get a hold of the makeup artist. He wound up changing the concept to single portraits of modern versions of a bunch of different fairy tale characters, and as I was the only one that could work on his time table, I shot every single one of them. I did hair and makeup and shot for The Princess and the Pea, Belle, Anastasia, Rapunzel, The Evil Queen, Snow White, and the Snow Queen.
We got done shooting a little after 10 last night and his studio is about 45 minutes from where I live. AND I had to be at work at 7:30 this morning. I'm quite exhausted, to be honest!
I hope it all turned out well, and I am definitely charging more next time... :)
