After reading Morgan's entry on the subject, and the overlong comment I made on it, I'll narrow down what I said to this:
I like some bands. I listen to whatever those bands put out, and try to find the stuff they put out before I became aware of them, and then anything new they release..
Some other bands, I don't like at all, and so I totally ignore them, which isn't too hard if you don't watch TV or listen to the radio.

I still didn't like it. I tried hard (because at the time I wanted to be "cool"), but I just went back to my Ani DiFranco and that was that.
