I (joy of joys) found an old scrip for ninety 1mg Xanax (alprazolam) pills whilst rifling through my old prescription records, which somehow eluded my notice when it was first handed to me by my shrink. Having been taped to my refrigerator since the dawning of 2007, it was dated 03 January 2007, but according to Walgreens, that's perfectly OK, despite its age, so at about 02:00 this morning I had it filled. Talk about a lifesaverLunesta seems to have abruptly stopped working on me, so this heaven-sent bottle of 90 1mg Xanax (with five refills to boot for a total of 450mg of the drug), little blue angels that they are, decided to show itself at the most opportune moment imaginable. Shortly after I returned home after having it filled, I was thoroughly ensconced in blissful, benzodiazepine-induced slumber, which came just in the nick of time because Lunesta doesn't seem to have any effect on me whatsoever anymore.

My shrink recommended I check out the Partnership for Prescription Assistance, a clearinghouse type of non-profit organisation that enables the poor and downtrodden (like me! *sigh*) to acquire brand-name and generic prescription drugs at little or no cost. After filling out the 36-page application form, I need now only to get my prescribing shrink to sign a few of the pages, and then off to the wonderful USPS it goes. This, at least, will take some of the financial pressure of me and my on-again/off-again status of employment. (Always assuming that it does, in fact, do what it says on the tin.)

In any case, since my perspective job for this weekend has vanished in a proverbial puff of smoke, I can think of nothing I'd like more to go back to bed.
