I haven't been catching up with SG for a while, for whatever reason. It seems I can't bothered, but with enough self/peer pressure, I read my friends list every day.

Unrelatedly, I bought a new toy:



It's a Dean Playmate V acoustic/electric bass guitar (though the picture at that link wood-colored, mine is black). I ordered it from Guitar Center about a month ago, and due to it being back-ordered, I just got it yesterday. And now I have to teach myself how to play again; it's been eight years since that bitch (a particularly sinister ex-girlfriend) stole my previous bass, a Fender/Heartfield Prophecy II.

The Playmate is, compared to every other bass I've ever played, freaking HUGE. I bought a gig bag for it but it doesn't fit. I bought a strap for it but there appears to be only one strap node (on the underside of the body), and no corresponding node on either the upper part of the body or on the head. I'll probably fix this sometime soon, probably the next time I need to go to Harahan (where Guitar Center is) and buy a node.

Anyway, building maintenance is currently working on getting my central air working again. In the meantime, I sweat. Too hot in here to do much else (except maybe blogging, heh).
