So, maintenence is supposed to be here today to replace my fridge, which has been bleeding rust water for months. Though they said they'd do it today, I'm not going to hold my breath waiting for them to show up, given their past non-punctuality.
I went out Saturday night, as planned, although a little later than the agreed-upon meeting time (I slept through my 6:00pm alarm until midnight), but by then everyone was still out so I drove down to the Quarter, and met up with Kayna, Parikhan, junkllama, PoorImpulseCntrl and some other guy whose name I can't remember, probably because he didn't say much and he left early.
We all ended up going to Barely Legal, and we all got in free because of some friend-of-a-friend business. We got there at about 1:30am and stayed until 7:00am. It's always so disconcerting when you go somewhere at night and then leave when it's daytime. We all ended up with headaches afterwards although I don't think anybody was really drunk. For some unknown reason, whenever we have a SuicideGirls meet-up, someone ends up hurt or ill afterwards. This time everyone had a headache, and when Kayna got home she was physically ill, so I (being the valiant amateur pharmacist) gave her some Xanax and Skelaxin. She just TXT'd me a minute ago, and I called back but apparently she's not taking calls and I don't feel like whittling out a paragraph of text on my phone in reply, so I left her a voicemail. I wonder if we're all just sickly, or if we're all healthy but living in a sickness-inducing city. Anyway, apart from the aches and pains, it was a fun night out, although being in a strip club again left me feeling a little hollow, as it always has since my one artificially shiny visit to one 3.5 years ago. I've since learned how to control my spending compulsion at such places, but PoorImpulseCntrl, who known of us really knew apart from our mutual association with this website, spent like three hours in the upstairs champaign rooms and probably spent over a grand all told.
So, yeah. I guess I should go remove everything from my fridge, just in case the maintenence people decide to magically appear within the next hour or two. If they don't, I'll be very put out because taking some drugs and going to bed looks like a very attractive thing to do at this juncture.
