Happy MLK Day.

Dr. King was an amazing man with even better ideas. He stood up when no one else would, and gave people a voice to rally behind. It's sad, but I still see wrong doing towards all types of people even in 2008. He was a hero too many and it is sad that he is gone from this world. It is sad to think that only a few people can have this kind of power and they are usually taken from us far too early. I believe people are still being pushed down in society but also through class structure. I felt at times growing up that my only option was to join up with the army and just become apart of the system. Because my family never had enough money to put me through school and it just wasn't an option for me. I did make it through but now I am ear deep in debt and I seem to be in the exact place I was in as a poor college student, barely making it with no extra money to save or invest. It seems I have come full circle because of the system we are in. Not poor but no way to ever be comfortable.

I decided to become a teacher so I could maybe influence kids to think for themselves and not become part of the flock. I want to make a difference so kids today can have the opportunity to do stuff I will never be able to do. I believe the reason I feel this way is because of people like Dr. King. He has always been a major part of my musical career as well. Every shitty punk band I used to be always played a song inspired by MLK, we closed our shows out with an instrumental with the "I have a Dream" speech playing over it.

So my question to you is, what are you doing to make a difference?

I'd personally go for the self titled album Tomahawk (2001) and Mit Gas (2003)..
God Hates A Coward, the one I posted the video of, is on the album Tomahawk.
go go go! smile
