You have no idea how much I spent at the Mac store this weekend. I'm satisfied in every way with my investment.

I used to gag at the idea of forking out so much on one shade of eyeshadow or a tube of lipstick. Like my mom, I was a 5 dollar drugstore cosmetic gal. The difference is exactly like buying cheap acrylic paint.

Now, you could be a highly skilled painter and make some pretty cool shit with some student grade no name brand of paint...but it's going to give you a lot of problems along the way. Colors won't mix right, the paint will apply funny, the vibrancy of the colors may be blah...chalky, dull. You'll have to use a lot of it because it's mostly extender with a little bit of pigment. If you want to have fun painting, start plunking down the extra few bucks for the good stuff... and get some decent brushes. You could populate a small planet with all the weird variations of brushes out there...but you just need your basic rounds and flats.

Anyway...this Mac stuff does some cool stuff! You know how car paints come in all kinds of weird sheens and glitters and colors that shine different ways in the light...same thing...except on YOUR FACE!

Plus, you'd never know my skin has barely survived the savages of acne....looks brand spanking new.

If you you're not sure how to use these colors and brushes and other artillery together, fear thee not, at Mac you get your own designated make-up slave that will happily show you how and how not to use it.

No, I don't work for Mac.
Yes, I am sorta justifying to myself why I spent so much.

yes, not to get too technical about it, but i have been noticing that the drugstore eyeshadow doesn't have much pigment to it, and it fades quickly. bleh. i deserve better! smile
