It seems everyone is excited at the prospect of me growing up.

Yesterday I received some clothes, a blanket, and some old 78s from my grandparents. A nice suit jacket, some nice button down shirts, and a cool coat. It's strange that I fit so well into my grandfather's clothes.

In the 78s were some real classic old singles from the swing era including Artie Shaw's "Begin The Beguine" (R.I.P., brother). Also, lots of Sinatra, Glenn Miller, Jimmy Dorsey, Tommy Dorsey, Lionel Hampton, Louis Jordan, etc.

Today at work, I dressed up as I went to an office meeting and my co-worker Mike had me try on his leather jacket at the afternoon meeting while my boss Mark tried to give me a talk that was supposed to get me excited and productive. I felt sort of professional, but kind of like a poser. It's hard to imagine myself as anything but a kid, but a young kid ahead of his years and in school wondering why he's there. Now I'm reaching adulthood and wondering if this is what it's gonna be like for the next few decades or so.

QUESTION

Do you have anything that was handed down to you from someone?

I have some hemp pants that I begged my grandma for because she never wore them, and lived with us at the time.

And, yes, we make LA look cool, if by cool you mean dorky as fuck.
