Has anyone ever been about to finish a book, but really been sad it was almost over.

Right now I am reading this.

It is an amazing book that chronicles the life of trumpet/cornet player Rex Stewart, famous for playing in the orchestras of Duke Ellington and Fletcher Henderson. It is a great insight into the personalities of the people in the Ellington orchestra. The other really fascinating thing is that it provides a context for the music I am very unfamiliar with. It introduces you to the various seedy characters of the inner city in New York and really shows a side of jazz rarely talked about. It's fascinating to read about young Rex as he meets these characters on his way to being a great trumpet player.

Is anybody reading a really good book right now?

(just thought I'd ask cause people actually responded last time!)

well, quake has a pretty steep learning curve. if you have someone to teach you, it doesn't take too long. maybe two weeks. i've only been playing a couple of days. hope you had fun at the arcade.
