lovely dinner party last night... roasted garlic, pear and spinich salad, baked brie with apples for the appitizer [holy shit that baked brie we made was so good, and i even hate cheese], then for dinner there was a roast and steamed brocolli and asparagus with hollondaise sauce and ryan's awesome garlic mashed potatoes. then for dessert i made a mango fool i saw on martha stewart living and i served it with pieces of honeydew and cantaloupe in it and MAN what a good dinner. who knew doing a majority of the cooking for people could be so fulfilling? i now know the sense of accomplishment ryan gets from it. me and ryan, and caleb to a lesser degree, make a fucking awesome dinner party team.

i was pretty drunk on beer and mostly wine all day, it was great. a wine drunk is such a happy drunk, and i am impressed with myself for actually being able to drink it, though i am a pussy so i mostly stuck to the white zinfandel, but i could also take the cabernet sauvingnon.

the fucking ex that is a huge bone of contention for me and ryan called AGAIN, like she does ALL THE FUCKING TIME, and maybe it was the wine drunk, but me and ryan actually had a good conversation about it and he was like... 'you know i'll never not talk to her, but i really have absolutely no desire to talk to her on such a regular basis. i don't know why she calls every fucking day and can't take the hint, and i really have no interest in her opinions about our relationship, and she shouldn't even have any opinions about it, it's really none of her business, and i don't fucking care what she has to say about it.' she's stupid.

so... that's fucking good. the first time we had an open understanding conversation about that! and now i don't have to worry about her coming to visit or something. barrrrf.
