Ah yes...the holidays. I am actually looking forward to Thanksgiving for once. That is seriously a new change for me. I spent many a holiday in the middle of nowhere with a gun in my hand 'protecting freedom & democracy' and when I wasn't doing that on the holidays I spent them either alone with a bottle in my hands or at home wishing my family could stop fighting...then getting a hold of the bottle.
This year however, is different. I'm sober for the first time in my adult life, I have wonderful friends around me, and my family is collectively pulling their heads out of their asses. I am spending Thanksgiving with some friends up here in Seattle and I am hoping to see my family sometime around Xmas. We'll see.
Oh, I'm over the hump on the sick thing. I got hit with a nasty virus that has taken quite a few people around town down in the last couple of weeks. Thanks for the Get Well wishes.
