so... went to alchemy in dc thursday night, and i'm still recovering. it's having to work 9-5 that makes grown-ups turn old, i'm pretty certain. but i'll be finding my way to grad school soon enough..
heh, i shouldn't fool myself like that's not going to be a lot of work also. but at least it'll be with people my own age, and my work will be results- rather than hour-based. that's what sucks the most about 9-5 - even if you are really efficient and get done what you need to in a shorter amount of time, it's not like they let you go home early. doesn't give a person a lot of motivation, even if the work one does is cool. if i'm productive, i want to earn more time to myself, not weird unfocused slack-time and filler-productiveness at work. that stuff just sucks.
alchemy itself was grand - it was my first time in a club since i got dreads (two weeks ago? i haven't been getting out much lately :whatever
and it was awesome. was for the b-day of a friend of a friend of fatespawn's, so i didn't know almost half of our little circle of people.
i really enjoy dancing. so much!
one thing that was both fun and curious for me was dancing with a girl-who-is-a-friend of both fatespawn and me. she's very short and cute and seems to have a bit of a crush on me. i'm kind of shy, and generally don't dance with people at all, really, but we danced together and it actually worked well. hooray!
