am listening constantly now to the run lola run soundtrack. yay for kinectic music helping to fend off the blessed blessed sleep we are denied...

too much to do. i don't even want to enunciate it - would just provide evidence against myself later.

no mention or recognition of the red hair at work. perhaps this is a politeness? but on the upside, i moved out of my closet room today! sat at the big desk in the big room with two of my coworkers - was a window with real sunlight to my right, and i had *two* computer screens, and a computer that sat upright in a special cabinet drawer (unlike my old one, which hung suspended on its side in a cage of wires, which made its CD drive work like crap. CD drives don't like having to work sideways). i also have a split keyboard, which is posh but raises minor issues. i type left-handed one-fingered, with the right index providing occassional backup on the <enter> and <shift>. so it does become a minor concern... i like the way i type, it's quite serviceable, but will other people look upon me like i can't read without moving my lips or something? eh, whatever. i've fixed up enough on their account. struck me funny as i was walking home from work and cutting across the grass, up and down a slight hill, and as i was going down the slope a bunch of black sedans drove by, all in a row, and i thought paranoid-like - ah, what if my supervisor sees me walking on the grass! and then i had to mentally poke myself and say, good lord child, stop being stupid. you can walk on the frigging grass, it is okay. surreal i do need to start playing more mental games of "what would the mother say?" (case in point - i missed my predecessor's work-sponsored goodbye dinner, but i should write him a nice letter of appreciation for sure, and soon) but i can't let it get out of hand, because i'd quickly go stark raving mad. is like i've picked up the fear of god or something, but in the end most of this stuff isn't all that crucial. so i will endeavor to stop looking over my shoulder. nip these things in the bud, yes.

daylights savings time + early morning power outage = excellent reason to go back to bed. it's so sunny right now... my evening class is in 5 minutes and i really can't believe it.

i need to write more, but even more than that i need to go to class and, upon my return, write my phil stuff right away. so no more from me until tomorrow. bah.

I hate daylight savings time. Losing an hour sucks.

Black sedans, all in a row? It's the Matrix! Were there any black helicopters? wink

Tell them you need at least 4 monitors with a different OS for each! At one point I had a SPARCstation20 with Solaris2.5, an Indigo2 running Irix, a Win2k Professional laptop, and a WinNT RAID server all playing my desktop workarea... biggrin Though the Indigo2 and the WinNT were unupgraded boxes from 1996 and it was 2001. Overkill, but fun to play with, especially since my real work was at a dead end most of time I worked there. tongue

As for typing... Um, there might be another reason for the looks... some touchtypers view this site but only type one-handed while they are here... wink

My ex-boss who got promoted laterally to his level of maximum competency has a cube where he can be heard but not seen. Lately I hear a lot of swish-rubbing noises (he wears a windbreaker because he sits directly under a A/C vent). Perhaps I have too acute of hearing. I don't hear a lot of typing or mouse-clicking, just a lot of rubbing. puke His behavior has been getting more and more inappropriate in the five years that I have know him. frown I don't think he's looking at porn... but... puke

I knew a guy at another job who would view porn at work, but they wouldn't get rid of him until he started harassing the one female employee in our section...
