the rain falls softly. it dances across the boards beyond the sliding glass door. solemn. cold.

in this moment, the world seems so beautiful.

the monochrome tones of the sky thick with texture. so pure is this moment.

i can feel you stare. the holes that you burn into me. a sharp sting that fades to a dull ache as i lay here drowning in my thoughts.

lost in the sky, lost in myself. i need to know what i am to do next. i need closure, whatever the price of it's pain. for pain is not a stranger of mine, but a close friend indeed.

so let me fly away this dreary winter's day. and i'll fly high and far away until i am out of sight and out of mind. in time i know, i'll find my place.
