President's Day... what an odd "holiday" to follow Valentine's Day. Both are equally unimportant to me since I'm not in a relationship with anyone and I'm not a President. So here I am enjoying another day off provided by the Army. I'm sitting at the IT center on the internet, browsing around and talking with a few people. All-in-all its a pretty boring day.
The weather here has been pretty bizzaro to say the least. It snowed alot on Friday for the first time in decades. Apparently two inches of snow in Georgia means the second coming of Christ is imminent. People driving like maniacs all over the place made for some good entertainment.
Let's see what else is going on with Marcus lately... I've realized that for each girl here at post there is probably five horny guys following them around, regardless of the fact that most of these girls are married. My buddy Floyd and I like to comment on the fact that half of these guys probably don't even know that these girls are married. More than anything they will fall into the ever dreaded "friend zone."
Just about every guy has fallen into this category at one time or another throughout their lives.
So yeah the single life is where it's at... oh wait it really isn't. I keep telling myself that it really isn't all that important just because I'm here for an entirely different purpose. This is where I get to learn my job so I can go to the operational Army in about six months and serve/protect my country. I haven't lost sight of that mission but when you have so many distractions and a hell of a lot of down time, it's hard not to want to attach some secondary objectives on to your daily routine.
It will all iron out just because... in my case it always does. OH... some financial updates. Apparently while I was away at basic, I was sued by a couple different corporations for my debts and what not. Lucky my attorney is good at what he does and made some good deals with the collectors. One debt went from $1900 to under $900 and my 3000 credit card debt is probably going to end up being around $1200 when its all said and done. My parents are paying it all off as a christmas/birthday/basic training graduation present. Which is pretty fuckin rad if I do say so myself, but I still feel like a shitbag. I'm going to send money to them every month even though they aren't asking for it.
I've learned my lesson throughout all of this shit over the last three years. At least now I can start building up some credit and what not so I can move on with my life. For now thats probably a good enough update. Let me know how you all are doing.
