Happy Motherfucking New Year, Bitches!!!

Yes, I'm back for my monthly visit. Hopefully I'll be around more in the immediate future, but then again I promised that the last time I posted, so who knows? The last few months have been pretty shitty, especially with my current work situation, and I haven't really felt like saying much, so I hope you will all forgive me for being a stranger. But I know I need to shake out of this funk, so I'm going to try to be more active 'round these parts. No, really!

So anyway, 2005 was a really shitty year, and I'm glad to see the ass end of it. It seems like I've had to endure a biblical amount of misery this year, and so has the rest of the country. But I know that 2006 is going to be a better year, and I am determined to do whatever it takes to make it so. Well, except have sex with Abe Vigoda. If that's what it takes, then I'm pretty much resigned to having another shitty year.

For those of you who remember me talking about my cousin's death around the beginning of the year, I recently got some news about her death that sent me reeling. Apparently her death was not accidental and they have been investigating it as a murder. According to her husband, the people investigating the fire at their house found spent bullets and a crowbar at the scene among other things, that led them to believe that she was murdered and that the fire was set in order to cover up what happened to her. This really confirms what a lot of us in the family had feared at the time, but is a complete reversal of what we had been told at the time that they had found evidence suggesting that the fire and her death were accidental. It was kind of a shock to me and several other members of the family, who just recently learned about all this because the investigators asked my cousin's husband not to comment on the investigation. Anyway, he has become understandably impatient with the pace of the investigation and has asked family and friends to get involved. I've placed a few phone calls myself and am posting this link here to do my little part to spread the word about this.

To end this post on a positive note, I am currently working on starting up a political blog. Because there aren't nearly enough of those things out there. Hey, I figure if Glenn "Instapud" Reynolds and the charming folks over at LGF can do it, why not me? Anyway, I hope to have it started up in the next few days/weeks and will let you all know once it's operational. The tentative working title is, uh, "Attack Macaque." Yeah, that's fucking original.
