i wish my christmas vacation wasn't about to end; it's over far too quickly.
i didn't get to do any real snowboarding, which makes me a little sad. i'm not sure if i hate my new bindings, they felt very cheap the two times i had em on. jen's bindings are awesome; i'm a little jealous. i took her to a small hill in her parent's city for some beginner exercises, and haven't had the opportunity to go riding on my own yet.
we stayed a night at a mutual friend's place (a couple actually), and i got to try a herbalaire vaporizer. i wasn't impressed with the performance or price paid, twice as much as mine .. more than twice the time to vape. i was caught up on the work/office drama, bff style; and then was privy to see it in action thanks to a random phone call and appearance of a coworker from said office. the web of lies was impressive, and very funny once the third party had left. an elaborate dinner was made up on the spot so we didn't have to include this person in our vape circle.
later in the evening i watched my buddy and his gf (practically wife) play co-op gh3 .. a first for me, 'cause i don't own 3 and have been rather anti-social since moving here. anyways, i saw the brilliance of this as stoned as i was and picked up a gh4 guitar kit for my 360 when we got back to ottawa .. so we can co-op.

i've added a little more um, responsibility to my life i guess by automating my banking/savings 'cause i had been living like a dumbass for far too long doing the paycheque to paycheque thing. today i realize it was basically from ignorance, i didn't understand the position i was in when i was 20 or the opportunity i had to further myself toward end goals; i kept those goals as some kind of long term dream instead of turning them into a something i could achieve.
i read an article over the holidays about procrastinators and how the lifestyle can affect health and mental state. after reading it, it seemed like the person had described what my lifestyle had become since i took on my current job after my dad died. generally, not very fun .. anxious, depressed, lonely, overwhelmed, etc.
after 2 restless sleeps i read the article again. so, without any excuses i've started some things that should make things easy as long as i keep working. next winter i should be able to travel; and i should have my light rig by mid summer.
once i have the lights, i'm going to start advertising my photography services locally. having the hardware to realize an artistic vision is really nice. practicing on jen's family over christmas was a fun exercise.
oh yeah, new years was awesome! we went to dinner at jen's favorite bistro and had a table in the front reserved. we got a bottle of a good valpocelli to go with our 4 course meal had a glass of champagne before leaving early.
we went back to jen's for around midnight, had a $80 bottle of champagne she given by her boss and had awesome sex for a few hours. great way to bring in '09
