road tripped again this weekend back to my home town for a family party in memory of my grandfather on his birthday. it was a pretty good weekend. i discovered the joys of uh, 1 lane highways. passing is not an excuse for speeding, and i lucked out with a nice cop. tagged me at 51km over the limit which is a $10k fine and loss of car/license for a week.
luckily, when asked why i was speeding i said "i was just trying to pass that transport before it 1 lane'd again" which was pretty obvious to the cop so she knocked the ticket down to 20km over which is a $140 fine.
this made us late for our arrival at the jen's parent's house. i told the story almost as soon as we arrived to her dad. he laughed. the next day i took him for a short drive.
last night i drank until around 2am and during the night i smoked a few joints with the gf and my buddy's wife (ok, not married but going on 6 years together). my friend couldn't partake, his bro (cop / opp officer) and his new gf were up so they were trying to keep the weed smoking a secret from the gf. i have no idea why, but we played along and left him at home with the fun people while we did our thing. he got his revenge with guitar hero .. he's almost ready to play on hard and after a few joints i lose my timing so medium becomes .. interesting.
epic battle ensued with 1 guitar that was busted. that sucked, but made things a lot more interesting.
drove home today, and picked up a new fish along the way. a juvenile regal tang. i haven't thought of a name yet, but he's already at home in the reef.
