wow, my job is so fucked up and crazy. a few days ago, i was told that our office is basically closing down and all departments except mine would be laid off. apparently, my job was secure although i would be working in a different office. ok. cool.

today, they bring us into the office one by one. when its my turn to step up to bat, i'm informed that everything that we talk about is strictly confidential and that i was not to discuss it with anyone. we were all told that. anyways, they tell me that the office will in fact be closing in the next couple of weeks. they inform me it will be sudden, and I will probably simply be notified via a phone call. I would recieve severence pay, a record of employment, everything. after being off for a few weeks, they told me they would be opening up a new company and they would like me to come work for them. My job would be the same, although I would be hired as a consultant and not be directly employed by this new company. they again emphasized the necessity of me not speaking to anyone about this. wtf. who does that?

I think my time in mtl is almost done. I need to go to taiwan. sometime sooner rather than later would be good.
