I'd never been affected by a scary film until I saw Silent Hill. And it's based on a frigging computer game, I felt ashamed. I think it's because I've felt that way about real places (like you) - like not exactly agoraphobic but a sensation that reality is not quite as closely held together as you think and you need to tread carefully.
