Movie Reviews By Astrokreep23!
This Week....Shanghai Knights:

I wasn't going to see this movie in the theatres. Hell I wasn't even going to go to the movies at all when I woke up this morning. But since I've decided to take a page from the book of choas for a spell I ended up downtown with chums playing Dance Dance Revolution 5 and watching Shanghai Knights. As you may or may not already know this movie stars Jackie Chab as Chon Wang (everyone calls him John Wayne) and Owen Wilson as Roy O'bannon. This movie is your classic action comedy sequel with a predictable story line and similar jokes/themes as the first. However one does not go to any movie staring Jackie Chan for the plot now does one? Personally some of Jackie Chan's movies make me sleepy and even the fights scenes fail to grasp my attention. However this movie keeps things upbeat both during and between action sequences. I found the fight scenes to be pretty imaginative, even by the ussual Chan standards, and well done. Most of the scenes are accompanied by amusing music depending on their location too, I won't give away anything here don't worry. Owen Wilson and Jackie Chan play of each other pretty well, though not quite as well as say Chan and Tucker. Wilson's hijinks keep the movie entertaining and light while Chan's fight scenes give the film a nice edge. The movies not great by any stadard. We laughed when the main villain made his first appearance looking as if he had jumped out of some poorly done enemy. Of course after watching him during his final fight scene I found new respect for him, or it might just have been fear. Some the people in this film are "Chinese," as in they are from Vietnam, Thailand, and other various asian countries and we arn't supposed to know the diffrence. Other than those minor transgressions I really enjoyed this film. The out-takes alone are worth a video store rental. It now occurs to me that I have made it this far into this review with any mention of the lovely and talented Fan Man-Fong who plays Chan's sister. She does well in this film. Hopefully she will find time to make future films between giving birth to our many children. That aside I would reccomend this movie to anyone who likes a good lighthearted movie with fun harmless action mixed in. However for those of you who are short on cash may I suggest waiting for the VHS or DVD as this is not something that is a "must see in theatre" film. I give this movie 13 stale milk duds.

AHHH! DDR! The only thing that can erase the stain of DDR is Jackie Chan. Ugh...DDR is the worst thing to happen to video games since Everquest stole all my friend's souls!
