This was my first V-day with Stacey! It was a little insane to say the least....
I woke up at 5 am all hung over and couldn't fall back asleep. So I worked on my line sheet for wholesalers for like 3 hours and then finally headed back to bed to go back to sleep around 8. Of course this resulted in both of us sleeping till about 2 pm. No good.
I was looking forward to the night because my dad was taking Stacey, my grandma and me out to <a href="http://www.vinnytsofboston.com/">Vinny T's</a>. Dinner was going great until my dad brought up politics while waiting for dessert. Of course he just had to do it. I keep trying to divert the conversation by saying that we would just have to agree to disagree, but he kept at me. Eventually the conversation topic became economic inequality and health care. Which of course prompted me to bring up social inequality because economic inequality and social inequality are directly linked. Needless to say, my conservative father didn't like this much. I just had to bring up my gayness and how difficult it is for me on a daily basis. And he had the nerve to say that my lesbianism is like how he had to get a haircut when he got an office job. Apparently we all have to conform to normal social standards to get by. Ummm not okay. So of course I freaked out and vulgarly told him that we could talk when he was forced to walk around pretending he's gay. He stormed off to the bathroom, I started crying at the table and my clueless grandmother was like, "What just happened?"
When my dad finally came back neither of us spoke to each other. Stacey and I ended up leaving early and I bawled my eyes out in the parking lot. Fun V-day for sure!
