And, wow, this is like the tenth day in a row your body's been hurting. You might wanna get that checked out.

Thank you. It's comforting to know somebody appreciates humor on here.

i went to my first hip-hop class yesterday and OW OW OW do my muscles ever hurt! my body was doing things i didn't know it could do! there i was, swinging my legs all around on the floor, and suddenly they were up in the airmy feet waving towards the ceiling, my head resting gently on the floor. my whole body was balanced on...

I think I heard that the Longest Journey is supposed to have a sequel. And Syberia is definitely going to have one. I postponed getting it and now that the sequel is coming, I will probably wait to see if they release a special package that contains both. Amerizone was written by the Syberia writer and is supposed to be good. I want to get Silent Hill 2. I have a couple of the trailers for the console version that are way creepy. I took an online survey from Ubisoft after Myst III came out that asked what I wanted to see in the next installment. I told them less bad acting (among other things). Riven was my favorite although I liked the music and mood in Myst a little more. What about Beyond Atlantis or Atlantis II or whatever it is? The trailer looked good, but it got mixed reviews. Or Schizm? I heard that Schizm on DVD is significantly better than on CD - less compressed graphics and no CD swapping. But I also heard that the puzzles weren't always logical in context of the story and sometimes required lots of running back and forth between areas. It is so tough to get an unbiased view of these types of games because most people either love them or hate them. The ones that love them seem to go out of their way to talk about how great they are because the genre has been bashed so much - like they are trying to compensate for it. The ones that hate them generally don't give constructive criticism.

my "best friend" is visiting. she is contradictory, lacking in self-awareness, and snobby. she's also loyal, compassionate, and funny. have you heard that smiths song? " there are times when i could have strangled her...but you know i would hate anything to happen to her..."

what do you do with someone you've known for 20 years who brings you much frustration but also much joy?...

i'm with nerd on this one...

long-term friends are the bestest. even if she's a pain in the ass you should still keep her around smile
catdad:
if it's a best friend, there's a reason it's lasted this long - the joy must outweigh the frustration. but if your feelings are ever hurt or your opinions are not acknowledged, let her know about it. a good friend would say sorry and learn. hopefully, anyway.

what computer adventure games do you like? I loved the Myst series, especially the first two, as well as The Journeyman Project 2: Buried in Time. I've also liked many of the RPG's. Morrowind has become one of my all-time favorite games, but I haven't finished it yet. Been side-tracked lately by Planetside while it's free.

i asked J to help me tape a porn DVD onto a videocassette before it had to be returned to the store. the next day, i got home from work to find a tangle of wires and strange machinery on my floor.

me: what's all this?

J: ah, well...you see, the audio on this DVD is just a music soundtrack, and the music is really...

why? because snoopy is joe cool.

when I was in junior high school, the other kids teased me about my obsession with all things Peanuts. they said, "someday, you're gonna MARRY Charlie Brown!"

last night, i went to the bar to say farewell to my friend derek, who is moving away from edmonton to "chase his dreams" in calgary. there i ran into melissa who is also moving, to long beach, california. it was a jolly bunch--everyone was giddy about the warm weather and drinking beer on the patio upstairs. at one point i glanced at melissa and...

You have a knack for telling great little stories about your experiences. Your style reads like bits and pieces of something bigger, like a novel. Thanks for sharing them. Hopefully, you do a lot of writing.

it's summer-hot in edmonton, and i saw the Buck 65 show in a tiny but perfect venue two nights ago. i love that guy.

i'm participating in a wank-a-thon on may 24! the pledges are rolling in. biggrin
catdad:
Sounds like a fun time. My life is a wank-a-thon considering how long I've been out of a relationship.

Recommend me some Cat Power. Where do I start? I've only heard a few of her songs, but liked them all, and she has that name.

do you have a favorite brunch place? mine was the (now-defunct) Aunties and Uncles in toronto. now it's possibly Nellie's in calgary.

so...brunch. it's 2:50am. meet me on the corner in 6 hours. and bring that book you've been telling me about. i'll be wearing a shirt that says "hot damn" on it.
