i asked J to help me tape a porn DVD onto a videocassette before it had to be returned to the store. the next day, i got home from work to find a tangle of wires and strange machinery on my floor.

me: what's all this?

J: ah, well...you see, the audio on this DVD is just a music soundtrack, and the music is really boringreally, just a few pieces of songs mixed up and repeated over and over againso i thought i'd hook up the CD player to the VCR and dub in some better music, like this Tiga CD, but it wasn't working the way i wanted, so i hooked up the mixer, and i hope the levels aren't too low, but the music really improves the movie, i think...

me: you're such a nerd.

J: yeah, i know.

me: *looking* hey, it really is better! but can you do anything about those limp dicks?

J: uh, no.

me: damn.

(right about now, the cat comes whizzing around the corner and slams into the mixer, abruptly cutting off the sound.)

J: *rushing forward* NOOO!!!!

gus: MROWR!!! *runs away*

me: bad cat! BAD!
