i went to a party and art auction the other night for valentine's day. the absolute weirdest moment: a happy drunk guy was milling around incoherently rambling to people and giving them the creeps. he was clearly high on life...or on something. when he asked me to dance, i politely declined, but the thing was, i knew him from someplace. he looked really familiar. i knew that face wellvery wellbut i couldn't place him at all.

all of a sudden, two worlds collided and i knew. the guy from the corner porn store. in my head i could picture that normally expressionless face and hear that passive, slightly disapproving voice saying (i swear to god), "you forgot to rewind your video last time." it was bizarre to see him so animated. and what was he doing here? was he a crasher? was this his "scene"? i looked up to catch a glimpse of him racing across the dance floor in a wide circle, looking ecstatic.

i wasn't going to ask.
