Because last time I checked, a party was not the place to tell someone that they're a mediocre, matronly shut in who's abandoning their cultural heritage. Maybe it's just due to a limited imagination, but I don't see how any kind of afterlife could possibly remain interesting throughout the entirety of infinity.
