ok, so i don't really have SARS. i'm going to montreal in the morning. as usual, i've left everything to the last minute. i must run, much to do...eating, packing bags, cleaning house, washing dishes, last-minute cuddling of cats. miao!!

p.s. we had a lobster boil on sunday!

what i'm wondering right now, in between my own wheezing & coughing fits, is when our little Aster will make her glorious return to SG-Ville...

*wonderswonderswonders*
catdad:
You were coming back though, right? Or did they quarantine you anyway and you haven't had access to a computer?

i'm sick. i'm going to montreal next week. i have to beat this. call it a hunch, but it seems that a coughing, wheezing, sneezing chinese person on a plane out of toronto could get in big trouble right about now.

the molestics were smokin' hot on thursday night! but goodness, the going-away party...i wish i'd gotten a photo of sheri dancing with the Molestics guy on stage while his band played on in the background. it was definitely a moment of drunken glory.

"did i really do that?" she asked me later. "how did i get up on the stage? i seriously don't remember that....

catdad:
Those were just the babies. They were about the size of the cats. Their mom was on the ground somewhere when I snapped that pic. She eventually coaxed them down via a shrub at one corner of the house. They were having trouble figuring it out themselves.

one rule i like to live by: if you are going to be at a party where you will likely see an ex from many years past, it is best to look as stunning as possible.

so what should i wear? the event is an opera gala.

more b-girl action tonight. i'll update you all on the state of my ass. smile

I think I heard that the Longest Journey is supposed to have a sequel. And Syberia is definitely going to have one. I postponed getting it and now that the sequel is coming, I will probably wait to see if they release a special package that contains both. Amerizone was written by the Syberia writer and is supposed to be good. I want to get Silent Hill 2. I have a couple of the trailers for the console version that are way creepy. I took an online survey from Ubisoft after Myst III came out that asked what I wanted to see in the next installment. I told them less bad acting (among other things). Riven was my favorite although I liked the music and mood in Myst a little more. What about Beyond Atlantis or Atlantis II or whatever it is? The trailer looked good, but it got mixed reviews. Or Schizm? I heard that Schizm on DVD is significantly better than on CD - less compressed graphics and no CD swapping. But I also heard that the puzzles weren't always logical in context of the story and sometimes required lots of running back and forth between areas. It is so tough to get an unbiased view of these types of games because most people either love them or hate them. The ones that love them seem to go out of their way to talk about how great they are because the genre has been bashed so much - like they are trying to compensate for it. The ones that hate them generally don't give constructive criticism.

my "best friend" is visiting. she is contradictory, lacking in self-awareness, and snobby. she's also loyal, compassionate, and funny. have you heard that smiths song? " there are times when i could have strangled her...but you know i would hate anything to happen to her..."

what do you do with someone you've known for 20 years who brings you much frustration but also much joy?...

i'm with nerd on this one...

long-term friends are the bestest. even if she's a pain in the ass you should still keep her around smile
catdad:
if it's a best friend, there's a reason it's lasted this long - the joy must outweigh the frustration. but if your feelings are ever hurt or your opinions are not acknowledged, let her know about it. a good friend would say sorry and learn. hopefully, anyway.

what computer adventure games do you like? I loved the Myst series, especially the first two, as well as The Journeyman Project 2: Buried in Time. I've also liked many of the RPG's. Morrowind has become one of my all-time favorite games, but I haven't finished it yet. Been side-tracked lately by Planetside while it's free.
