To me this question really runs my whole adult existence. Growing up I had a wonderful family and all the love you could imagine, but even then couldn't protect me from awfull situations I had to face on my own, sexually assaulted but someone close, bullied at school to the point i tried to commit suicide when i was only 14...back then I couldn't even imagine how much personal growth would brought to me those events.

I had to pick up my pieces and reinvent myself so no one could harm me again, but also keep the door open so i didn't ostracice myself. It was such a hard work to do and I'm still making minor reparations but most of the sadness, fear and guilt is gone. I keep the good things I've learnt from those experiences, to worship the true friends I learnt I have, that family is always there, no matter how difficult they could be and no matter what (and if they are not, they are just relatives). It showed me to be truth to myself and that I have to put myself first. That true really makes you free and it's better to tell it even if it hurts.

I'm lucky to have a mother that even dealing with her own difficult situations is always there for me. I'm blessed to have found beautiful people in my life that is always inspiring me and making me want to keep on.

Happiness to me means to be in peace with yourself and with the ones you love. That doesn't mean you won't argue if you don't agree with something, but if you express your thoughs and feelings in the most assertive way and try to keep those differences aside, makes communication easier and leaves space for love to grow.

I know it might be a lot of information to process for a blog post but I hope that sharing my own experience gives you a little courage to deal with your own demons, and reminds you that ther is light at the end of the tunnel.
