So I quit my job at wet seal today...My district manager is a whore...

Here's the whole story...I just HAVE to vent or I'll go crazy


I've worked there since October of 06 and was just planning on staying until Christmas was over, just to make a little extra money. (Obviously that didn't work out)
Anyway, our assistant manager was fired for trying to stay on the clock while she went and got peircings with her associates...and they found out about it. So I applied for the assistant manager position. At this time I had been there 4 months, the longest associate to be there because of the high turn-around. Now, I'm a very professional person, I take all the work I do seriously and don't like to slack off. I had an interview with the district director who was unprofessional throughout our interview. She made me wait until the end of my day at 5 when I have to leave no later than 515 to go and pick up my daughter (and I told her this when she first arrived at 1) She didn't really look me in the eyes during the interview and I didn't feel like she wanted to even be interviewing me.

Several Weeks Later...

I still hadn't heard about it and I finally hear from my store manager that she's hired two other people. Okay, honestly I don't really care, I have another job...I just thought it would look good on my resume since I was going into fashion and I love working there. The district manager didn't even have the decency to tell me that she went with someone else. Am I being irrational about this? I work in the store that she was hiring people for. She'd come in 3 times since I heard about the new managers. I personally thought it was rude for her to do that.

Fast forward to today.

I come in this morning and she has a HUGE box full of head bands...that SHE took off our stand and didn't put back....I know it sounds stupid but she's always doing this. She comes in to help clean and then makes more of a mess than we had it. She comes in around 1 and I can already tell she's mad about something...She automatically starts telling me to go around and ask the customers if they need anything...which is waht I'm already doing....I think she likes people to know she's in charge.
I finally get off and I'm helping my sister pick out a dress to wear when she goes on her senior trip. I'm paying with my mom's credit card and she tells me I can't buy it because it doesn't have my name on it. So i told her I had NEVER heard of that before...It's the same last name and it's not a common last name. Anyway, she got an attitude and started telling me she knows whats right because she's the district director, blah, blah blah.


I know it sounds really juvenile but I'm not working with her anymore...She's the manager in the morning so I called the store manager and told her today was my last day working for them. I'm tired of being treated like crap at a minimum paying job.
