So I found out today that The Indestructibles was picked up by the Seattle Public Library this week. First library. Kind of a huge thing for a book's life cycle to get there. What I love is I have no idea how it got onto the Seattle Public Library's radar--I have no contacts there that I know of, so it doesn't appear to be a...

The publisher had a bit of a down day and was worried about how we could pick up momentum with the Indestructibles. I keep thinking we need just one great endorsement, one great tweet by someone with a following who likes superheroes and YA books. I just have no idea how to find someone like that and how to talk them into it.

... and I have no idea what to do with myself. It took less than two months to crank out the first draft, so there Shall Be Edits, but what a strange feeling to have the sequel ready for review.

Plus some change. I have a finale and an epilogue left to write in the sequel to the Indestructibles. Hemingway was right. Books aren't finished, they're abandoned.

Unfortunately, in this era it's easy to come across someone who lost someone to suicide. Less than two weeks ago, a friend of mine told me that one of his sisters took her life 15 years ago...I had no idea and it really hit a sensible spot..

Lost my best friend 15 years ago. Eternal impact on me. And people are so quick to write suicides off instead of asking why and what could have been done to help. What went wrong. Why were they so profoundly unhappy. It's a discussion modern society really needs to have and I feel like we're afraid of it.

Amazing. Here's to hoping the rest of the weekend goes this well down on Artists' Alley. I'll be at Booth D426 if anyone's in town.

Anyone hitting Boston ComicCon this week? I'll be over in artists' row (D426) trying to pretend I know what I'm doing. Stop by and say hello.

So the second book is hovering just below 70,000 words. 68,500 more like. And I was on a hell of a roll until some client work came up the past few nights that really killed my time to write. I was really hoping to have the first draft finished before heading in to Boston ComicCon this weekend to promote Book 1--side note, if anyone is...
