Things can be going well--book sales are fine, got a photography gig this weekend, things are starting to turn around a bit--and yet it's so easy to find yourself suddenly and profoundly lonely.

This last book broke my heart a bit. It's about time travel, and to me time travel stories are about regret, because you see the impact of your mistakes and, depending on...

Saw a lot of people posting this and I feel irresistibly compelled to play along. If I genie granted me three wishes?

1. For the Indestructibles to do well enough as a book series that I could write full time. I mean I could wish for fame, or that movie career I always wanted, but rather than be greedy, I'd just like to be able...

And now onto the editing process. I can't brag about how fast this one turned around. Full six months of writing time. But in my defense, it's the time travel story arc for the Indestructibles. Time travel is hard.

The Parting Glass is a hell of a song to work into a book about time travel and how you can't really fix anything in the end, you can only make it different.

God this stuff makes me miss my old home. Some day I'll disappear to Ireland again and never come back. Should have never left in the first place.

So my publisher is giving away "The Soloist," a prequel to my novel "The Indestructibles" this weekend. If you like superheroes, dancers who become badass vigilantes, or just free ebooks, check it out! And if you like it, spread the word!

I'd love to do a giveaway of the paperback some day on SuicideGirls, but I can't figure out the best way. If anyone has...

Stay tuned for details if you like free superhero stories, particularly about ballet dancers who become vigilantes...

Made it into the book tonight. Either I'm writing in an altered state again or I'm just getting loopy.

Has to be loopy. I couldn't explain the second law of black holes drunk.

So apparently today was National Superhero Day. How did I not know this? How? I do this for a living.

If you feel like giving a little love to my book in honor of National Superhero Day though, it can be found here.

Also, if anyone on here, Suicide Girl or journalist or pop culture bloggers, ever want to run a giveaway on your page,...

So, inexplicably, my publisher has decided to give the Indestructibles Christmas story away for 48 hours, tomorrow (Monday, April 20) and Tuesday the 21st. Christmas in April? Anyway, if anyone's interested in checking out the superhero series for free, it's a good little starter story (20 pages, no real spoilers for either book in the series so far). Readable on Kindle or any Apple device,...

Someone has photoshopped all of the characters in my superhero novel series the Indestructibles into cats. I can't tell if this is the best thing in the world or not. All I know is I can't stop laughing at them...

Some time before the third book is finished. I've done giveaways before but always through other events. Not sure how to do it on my own. There's got to be a "follow me on Twitter" type way of doing a giveaway for a book, right?

I love my publisher but they're not great at this stuff. I'm kind of on my own.

These were the topics of the chapter in Book 3 I worked on tonight. Apparently Entropy Emily is a Little Mermaid fan. Who knew.
