I can't believe I took these at the start of JULY and I'm only just finding the time to post them... Life has been so crazy busy, in the best possible ways.
I had a rare bit of time to myself to play around with the 5D, I really have no idea what I'm doing with this camera and it was interesting using a prime lens for the first time. Having to move myself around as well as adjusting the tripod and using a boom to get different angles...
A lot of the time I had no idea where the photos were focused:
And some I wasn't fully in the frame at all :P
I had previously found that I can use the Canon software through my laptop to see an immediate preview of the shot and thought I could use that to help me correct my pose, but on the day that I took these I couldn't find the cable to connect my camera to the PC! So I was shooting blind, using my wireless shutter remote and having to get up and look through the camera's viewfinder between shots.
Despite that, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I still captured some shots that I really like!
Obviously I haven't edited any of these images at all - I have no idea about editing technology either and Photoshop/Lightroom seem like a big investment for something I'm barely finding time to dabble in at the moment. However, the lovely @sammax93 did give me the names of a couple of free software programs that I'm hoping to look into, and the beautiful @v0od0o_cutie offered a while ago to help me with editing if I ever do manage to self-shoot a set! ^.^
Perhaps I should have continued on this day and tried to take a full set to upload here, but I was just playing around to see whether it was even a possibility and at least this experiment left me feeling positive and hopeful that I can definitely try to self-shoot for SG in the future!
I'm also trying to embrace my little pudge :P and although I love my body more than ever since becoming a mother, I still struggle with body dysmorphia and focus on the many "flaws" I see, like the veins in my breasts and the shadows beneath my eyes that I reassure myself might be fixed with editing, and the different body parts that I can hide or enhance through posing. I do look forward to playing around with the camera more in future.
I also found the cable to connect my camera to the laptop once I'd finished up and packed everything away >.< HAHAHA
