Been loving the iPod. After much debate I finally relented and purchased one of those beasts. Not that the iPod itself is beastly, but the price-tag for the 30gig video was a beastly sight.

It has been a wonderful release at work. Things get a little stressful and I cue up some of my instrumental music and just let the stress drip away. Especially useful when I don't have an opportunity to partake of other stress relieving activities. Hopefully I don't start fielding complaints about the damned thing though.

It's nice to have for the podcasts to. Missy and Bee rock. I've listened to the last few podcasts. Someone told me I could simply have gotten iTunes and been able to listen, but frankly, portability is key here. Even my laptop isn't as portable as I would like for such things. My iPod will stay nice and comfortable in my pocket and everything is cool.

Now I'm spending more money than I should on music through iTunes and starting to play with the idea of creating playlists. I've already put one together, but it's just Flogging Molly, the Pogues, and the Dropkick Murphys thrown into a list, no special order. I just like to listen to them, and when I start listening to one I want to listen to them all, so convenience won out there.

Now I'm looking to put together some interesting playlists with a collection of music from different artists composed into something with some attached meaning. Takes me back to my days in high school when I used to make mixed tapes for people, particularly for the girls that held my interest at any given time.

Although, I must say, the photo and video storage hasn't been all that valuable to me as yet. The video storage disappointed due to the restriction on file size. I, being a Star Wars fan at heart, had a copy of the fan-film TROOPS. I wanted to download it onto my iPod so I could take it with me and entertain myself and others with it where I went. Alas, the file size is too damned large. I have downloaded the last three SG videos, which are cool enough, very enjoyable, but I find myself feeling that they're things that I could just as easily have left on my laptop if I wanted to be able to show them to others. I suppose I could put my favorite SG photos on my iPod as well ... but again ... how often am I going to be like "Hey, check out {insert name} Suicide!"

All that I have left is to accessorize my iPod. I want to get the impact resistant case that I see on the Apple Store. I'm not prone to dropping these things, but at $300 it's too expensive a piece of equipment to drop just once. Then I want to do something about the earbuds. Should I get the ones that fit into my ear, or should I get the sport model that fit from behind the head, or both? The behind the head model would be quite nice for things such as exercising ... who knows. Of course, the irony is that I'm still not done paying for this thing because I want to add on. The music I won't count, since I would have purchased that anyhow, and iTunes has actually made that a less expensive proposition for me.

Yay me! Yay iPod!
