30 years ago today (although most of you weren't even born yet) a movie hit the big screen that would forever change the history of how people view movies. And most of you probably don't even realize this impact because you don't really understand how movies were seen before this particular one. Many of you take for granted the special effects that are put into movies and may even think that a movie isn't a movie without things like that. I'm not trying to dis on any of you. I'm just pointing out that this particular movie was an historic event. And because I can remember it so vividly, that makes me old... okay, well, to many of you, I'm old. I don't feel old. Even the girl who I'm dating, who happens to be half my age, mind you, doesn't make me feel old. (Wow, I'm going out with a girl who is 20 years younger than I am!)
Okay, enough about my personal life... we're talking historic movies here.
Since it was released, it has had not only two sequels, but three prequels and two animated prequels, plus several TV shows, and merchendise up the ying-yang! Not to mention all the spoofs and references to the movie in many other shows and movies.
The director, a relatively unknown man from a little town not far from where I live, called Modesto, California. This man's name is George Lucas.
The movie: Star Wars
This was it's original title, before the Episode IV came aboard, and even the sub-title, A New Hope.
Now, we all know Star Wars as episode 4 in a 6 movie epic tale.
It hit the theaters 30 years ago today.
Movie-going has never been the same.

Any relation to The Jedi Holiday today?

He indeed revolutionized film making. Had I been alive I would've been stunned.
